Norfolk officer aims to help Hispanic community- Virginia
Tagged: police, VirginiaPosted on: July 2nd, 2007“As the rush-hour crowd headed home on a recent Friday, Norfolk police officer Juvenal Valdez made another stop in an Ocean View neighborhood.
A little girl playing outside waved as he walked toward a house that neighbors had complained about – too many people living there and too many cars, they had told police. But when a couple of Valdezs colleagues went to investigate, they couldn’t communicate with the tenants.
That’s when Valdez – the department’s new resource officer for the Hispanic community – stepped in.”
