“BrainstormUSA and the Latin American Association LAA, have teamed together to help close the achievement gap facing Latino youth. BrainstormUSA, a marketer of educational products based in Atlanta, in conjunction with its partner, the Siboney Learning Group, a curriculum-based developer of educational software will donate networkable educational software valued at $97,000 to the Latin American Associations summer camp program. In addition, Seneca Data, a leading manufacturer of branded and private label computers for the education and other markets will donate 10 desktop computers, configured with Intel Pentium 4 processors and flat panel displays. The nonprofits program, which serves 250 children, was conceived to keep Hispanic children engaged during the summer months when school is not is session, with educational and fun-filled learning activities in a positive social and cultural environment. This collaboration demonstrates the powerful impact that can occur when those in the corporate, nonprofit and education sector join forces to help children and their families succeed.

Students enrolled in the summer camp will have an opportunity to work on enriching their skills with lessons designed specifically to meet their needs. The targeted assignments will give students an academic advantage while games and puzzles make learning time fun and motivating. On the partnership, LAA Executive Director Maritza Pichon commented: “The participation of the private for-profit sector is essential in closing the Hispanic achievement gap and, in this context, BrainstormUSAs donation could not be timelier. Thanks to their generosity and vision, this summer over 200 children will be exposed to educational software that will assist in the development of valuable skills for their success in school.”"
