“Immigrants contribute more to Florida’s economy than they cost the state, according to a study released last month by Florida International University.

Compared to those born in the United States, immigrants contribute more in taxes than they receive in assistance, according to the study by FIUs Research Institute on Social and Economic Policy. In addition, some sectors of the states economy ”” such as agriculture, construction and the service sector ”” depend on a largely immigrant workforce.”
