“Boxer Oscar de la Hoya donated $50,000 to help rebuild the auditorium at his alma mater, Garfield High School, which was destroyed in a May fire.
On the morning of May 20, the school caught fire. The auditorium — which was built in 1925 — as well as 10 classrooms burned. Damage was estimated at $30 million. “
