“CENTRO Mi Diario was just confirmed as the largest circulating Spanish weekly newspaper in the Tampa DMA. It is now the only Spanish language weekly publication currently audited by the Audit Bureau of Circulation (ABC) in the Tampa Bay area. The audit took place in the six month period of July through December, 2006. The report indicates that CENTRO Mi Diario’s non-paid distribution to Hispanic address specific designated households is of 40,025 and the average public access distribution or rack distribution is of 14,847. The total verified circulation and market coverage is of 54,872. Every week more than 54,000 issues reach more than 200,000 Hispanic readers in the rapidly growing Tampa Bay market.
According to Orlando Nieves, General Manager of CENTRO Grupo de Comunicación, “ABC gives us credibility. It confirms that we are delivering on our promise to advertisers and readers. It is proof to our readers that we deliver weekly a free quality product to their homes and to advertisers it represents a reassurance that they are getting their money’s worth. ”
ABC is an independent international organization based in Schaumburg, Illinois. They conduct circulation, readership and distribution audits for advertisers, advertising agencies and communication media. With more than 4,000 affiliated organizations, ABC is recognized as the “gold standard’ in the industry providing credible, verified information essential to the media buying and selling process. Only three other Spanish language newspapers in Florida are audited by ABC; El Nuevo Herald in Miami, and El Sentinel in Ft. Lauderdale and Orlando. “
