Army general apologizes for tattoo search – (on a mostly Hispanic unit)

“A top Army general has apologized to members of a New Mexico National Guard unit who were stripped searched for gang tattoos while on duty in Kuwait.

Army Brig. Gen. Rodney L. Johnson says the May 2006 incident was “gravely mishandled.”

Members of the Rio Rancho-based Task Force Cobra have alleged the unit was targeted for the search because of its large number of Hispanic soldiers.”
