Poll finds fewer blacks, Hispanics saving for retirement
Posted on: June 11th, 2007“The Minority Retirement Confidence Survey, released last week, found other signs that this confidence may not be justified. The majority of blacks and Hispanics said they had less than $10,000 in total savings, compared with 35 percent of all workers. Of all workers, 13 percent said they had $50,000 to $99,999 set aside, versus only 7 percent of blacks and Hispanics.
One possible explanation: Health care costs are preventing workers, especially those at the bottom of the pay scale, from saving money.”
