“Gary Sheffield may have a theory regarding the declining number of African-Americans in the majors, but White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen had a few thoughts of his own before last nights game.
Guillen, who, like Sheffield, has never been afraid to speak his mind, had little interest in discussing Sheffields racism charges, instead offering a theory that Latin American culture places baseball high above any other sport. “I guarantee that Latin American people play more baseball than any people, because thats all we have,” Guillen said. “You have more people playing baseball in Venezuela or the Dominican than anywhere, so there are going to be more players from there.”"
