My sensitivities, obviously, align with my ethnicity. When someone mentions “illegal alien,” the first image that pops into our collective minds is someone who is Hispanic.
Logic forces us to admit that illegal aliens also come from Asia, Europe, Africa and the Middle East. But passions force us to wonder if that Hispanic maid or busboy or gardener or construction worker, each so ubiquitous in our lives in Central Texas, is in this country legally.”
