Tagged: Cuisine, Indiana, IndianapolisPosted on: May 24th, 2007“Best of Indy salsa band Orquesta Bravo has been invited to participate in the third Indiana Festival at Conner Prairie. On Saturday, June 2, 2007, beginning at 4:00 p.m., Orquesta Bravo will appear and perform its hot and sultry sounds as the representative of Latin music in Indianapolis and its growing Hispanic community.
Orquesta Bravo is honored to be part of this event where for two days Conner Prairie comes out of the past and into the present, to move history forward depicting present-day Indianapolis and its diverse people. The festival celebrates the arts, music and people of the Midwest. This two-day multi-cultural festival will be held on five acres of Conner Prairies rolling hills and will feature three stages of entertainment, 100 artists, a kids activity area and stage, a cultural game tent and a variety of ethnic cuisines. Conner Prairie first started the Indiana Festival in 2005 and it was a big success. The theme of the festival highlights the diversity of Indiana. People from all around the world now call themselves a Hoosier. Because diversity is important to Orquesta Bravo, who proudly represents at least six countries, including USA, this festival is a perfect fit. If you have never visited Conner Prairie, this would be the perfect opportunity to do so. If you have never experienced Orquesta Bravo, this would be the perfect setting in which to do so. Admission: in advance through June 1 at Sky Bank and Marsh Supermarkets, $1/youth 2-12 & $6/adult; at the gate, $2/youth 2-12 & $7/adult.
Orquesta Bravo has undergone many positive changes and continues to strive to be the best Latin musical representative of our City and State. Under the leadership of Stacie Kidwell Sandoval on stage, the group has continued to solidify their music, expand their repertoire and intensify their entertainment. Recently, Raul Padro had undertaken the music directorship of the group and the impact of his contribution can already be felt. As always, the group is comprised of the best and most professional musicians Indiana has to offer. Ms. Kidwell is the owner of the local real estate firm, Home Free Realy, LLC. Recently, Ms. Kidwell also had a hand in creating the Stacie Sandoval Tropical Jazz Quartet, a smaller group performing jazz standards and boleros and featuring local icon Ken Fary on the piano. You can see the Stacie Sandoval Tropical Jazz Quartet next at The Chatterbox on Friday, June 22.
In the near future, Orquesta Bravo can be seen locally at The Jazz Kitchen Friday, June 8th, the City of Lawrence 4th of July Festival Friday, June 29th, and Indianapolis Zoos Animals and All That Jazz Thursday, July 26th.
