He glowed about the fact that Democratic and Republican senators — with White House assistance — had hammered out a comprehensive immigration bill. Senate debate began this week on the fine points of the plan, which I hope will put an end to this countrys immigration nightmare.

One disturbing feature of the bill has much to do with a shift from family-based to economic-based immigration policy.”
