Hispanic ECS Fund Announces Scholarships for Hispanics - St. Louis area

The Hispanic Educational, Cultural & Scholarship Fund is accepting applications for scholarships of $1,000 for Hispanic students from the St. Louis area.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens and reside in the St. Louis metropolitan region. The Hispanic ECS Fund scholarships are targeted to Hispanics/Latinos for studies at the college/university or vocational level.

Applications must be received and/or postmarked no later than June 30, 2007.

The Scholarship Evaluation Council will make its selection no later than July 15, 2007. Funds will be presented in August 2007.

The Scholarship Committee of the Hispanic ECS Fund is responsible for overseeing the awarding of scholarships. The Scholarship Committee selects a Scholarship Evaluation Council, which screens and selects the Hispanics/Latinos that will be awarded the scholarships. Members of the Hispanic ECS Fund cannot be members of the Scholarship Evaluation Council.

The Hispanic Educational, Cultural and Scholarship Fund (Hispanic ECS Fund), is a 501(c)(3) Missouri nonprofit corporation. Its mission includes working toward the achievement of better economic and social conditions of the Hispanic community through local and regional educational, cultural and scholarship programs. The Hispanic ECS Fund was created by the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan St. Louis Aug. 3, 1998.
