Hispanics also are scarce on coaching staffs – Central Florida
Tagged: FloridaPosted on: May 21st, 2007“Hispanics not only are underrepresented on area high-school athletic teams but also on varsity coaching staffs.
Earlier this year, the Sentinel asked athletic directors at Central Florida’s 51 public high schools for the number of varsity coaches at their schools and the number of Hispanic varsity coaches.
The 37 schools that responded reported a combined total of 1,567 coaches. Of those, 89 — or 5.7 percent — are Hispanic.”
