“A pro-immigrant complained Tuesday that he had been unfairly charged over $17,000 for security at a recent rally, but the city who issued the bill said he shouldnt worry about it since no one has ever paid such a tab.

The charge stems from a March 17 pro-immigrant rally in that attracted about 1,000 people.

Organizer Armando Navarro, coordinator of the National Alliance for Human Rights””an umbrella organization for Hispanic groups in Southern California””said he had a permit for the rally and had met with several times to discuss security amid planned counter-protests.”
