For the past two years, Mr. De Los Santos has been President/Owner of his own production company that produced support footage for vendors/clients whose products were sold on the air. Mr. De Los Santos experience is a perfect match for Home Shopping Latino because he was formerly the live production manager of Home Shopping Espanol, of St. Petersburg, Florida. He managed the operations from a six-hour production to a multi-signal 24-hour production which included live feeds, remotes, and taped broadcasts to Mexico and Puerto Rico. Mr. De Los Santos and his team were responsible for implementing and executing all of the production elements requested by celebrities and on-air guests. Additionally, he has worked closely with all of the networks vendors and was responsible for transitioning and developing effective plans to ensure success of the presentation of their products on HSE.
“Ysmaels extensive experience in television retail, production, and back-stage operations uniquely qualifies him for this important position with Home Shopping Latino,” says Frank Celecia, Chairman and CEO of Home Shopping Latino, Inc. “Im confident that Ysmaels experiences and can-do attitude will help us continue to ramp up our on-air capabilities as we move toward our first broadcasts.”
Expecting to tap into the considerable spending power of the growing U.S. Latino population, Home Shopping Latino, Inc, and its accompanying website, www.vivatelecompras.com, will fill a niche required by over 10 million Hispanic homes in the U.S., as identified recently by RTO online. This expanding market has shown some impressive numbers. HispanTelligence, the research division of Hispanic Business Inc., reported that Hispanic home ownership is currently at its highest level and increasing at four times the rate of total U.S. ownership. The three main Hispanic markets are the U.S., Puerto Rico and Mexico, having a combined household population of over 29.5 million with a combined purchasing power of over $450 billion — a very attractive source of revenue for advertisers. This market is projected to increase to nearly $1 trillion in the next few years.
Home Shopping Latino Inc. and Viva TeleCompras will share the airwaves with such big names such as HBO, National Geographic and Cinemax, and will be delivering their message through real-time broadcasts, an interactive website experience, and co-ventures with cell phone companies. They expect to begin live broadcasting before the end of 2007.”
