“Legislation currently moving through the Legislature that would forbid the hiring of illegal immigrants in Tennessee could not be enforced because it attempts to trump federal law, state Attorney General Bob Cooper said in an opinion.

The opinion is in reference to bill SB0202 sponsored by Sen. Bill Ketron, R-Murfreesboro, that would impose a $10,000 fine on employers who are found to hire illegal immigrants.”
