“Since being acquired from the Golden State Warriors shortly before the trade deadline in February of 2005, Eduardo Najera has been a fan favorite in Denver. His hustle and blue-collar approach to the game won over fans almost instantly. In addition, his Mexican roots quickly helped connect him to Denvers large and still expanding Latino community. In short, Denver has been a fantastic fit for Najera in almost every way imaginable. However, his time with the Nuggets very well may come to an end this summer.

Najera has a player option on his contract worth over 4-million which he must decide whether or not to pick up this summer. Multiple sources close to the situation have indicated that Najera will almost certainly pick up that option simply because it wouldnt make fiscal sense to leave that kind of money on the table and become a free-agent.”
