El Bravo Tamale Co., was founded in 2006 by Matt Wernecke, with the mission to expand the world of Mexican and give health-conscious and food-loving consumers access to great tasting, organic food choices. The company was born out of deep rooted passion for Mexican culture — Matt volunteered and worked for the organization Amigos de las Americas in , attended university in and met his wife Josefina during one of his frequent research trips to .
