Lagartos to be respected, not moved – El Paso
Tagged: El Paso, TexasPosted on: May 7th, 2007“Luis Jiménez is probably making maromas, turning somersaults in his grave in another fit of anger.
The El Paso artist became upset in 1999 when someone suggested his shiny fiberglass sculpture of four alligators frolicking in the fountain in San Jacinto Plaza should be replaced with a huge sculpture of the Spanish explorer Juan de Oñate on a rearing horse.
As we all know, Oñate changed names and went to the El Paso International Airport.”
