“Lila Downs has released a DVD featuring a potpourri of video clips by artists and filmmakers set to her love songs.
“Loteria cantada Singing Lottery” is based on a popular Latin American game that is similar to bingo, but uses cards with colorful pictures of everything from dancing skeletons to horned devils, the singer said at a press conference earlier this week.
“We wanted to bring a fresher, freer vision to things,” said Downs, who fuses her mothers traditional Mexican music with U.S. popular music she learned from her American father.”
