Immigration debate is pointless in Oregon - Meaningful change can come only from the nation’s capital

“Thousands of immigrants, their friends and families waved U.S. flags and marched around Oregons Capitol on Tuesday. They were in the wrong place.

The marchers showed a lot of faith in state government. So do the people on the other side, who demand that the Oregon Legislature “do something” about the illegal-immigration problem. But their combined voices should be turned toward Washington, D.C.”
