Hispanic Yellow Pages Network Received Three Awards Honoring Hispanic Print Excellence from the National Association of Hispanic Publications

“The National Association of Hispanic Publications NAHP, the preeminent organization representing more than 175 Hispanic publications in the United States, conducted the Jose Marti Publishing Awards named after the renowned journalist, Cuban hero, poet and statesman to recognize excellence in Hispanic publishing. More than 700 entries in six categories were received from across the nation. The awards were presented at the NAHPs 2007 Annual Convention in Scottsdale, AZ, on April 14th.

HYP Networks Directorio en Espanol received Gold, Silver and Bronze awards for its publications in Atlanta, GA, Tampa, FL and Fairfax, VA respectively under the category of “Outstanding Yellow Pages”. This is the sixth year in a row that VEGA Directorio en Espanol in Washington D.C. has been recognized as one of the best Spanish language Yellow Page directory in the country. VEGA Directorio en Espanol publishes 2 titles in the Washington DC Metropolitan area and next month will launch its first edition in the Baltimore market.

Judging the entries was a panel of individuals well-known in the world of Hispanic print such Michael Gomez, Executive Vice President of Marketing for Master Card clients; Hugo Balta, News Director for Telemundo; Nancy Ayala, Editor of Marketing & Medios; Christopher Campos, Executive Vice President for GlobalHue; Neil Porter, Associate Publisher of Medico y Familia; Carolina Gonzalez, Professor at John Jay College; Jose Bayona, Assistant Editor of Hora Hispana; Jorge Ulla, Creative Director for D Exposito y Asociados.”
