“Senior executives of three of the nations most respected and successful members of corporate America shared their perspectives with a cross-section of Americas Latino leaders convening in Miami, Florida for the Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibilitys HACR 15th Annual Symposium April 30-May1, 2007 at the Four Seasons-Miami Hotel.

Frank Blake, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer CEO, The Home Depot, hosted the first-ever HACR CEO Roundtable and was joined in a panel discussion by Ivan Seidenberg, Chairman and CEO, Verizon Communications and Jim Skinner, Vice Chairman and CEO, McDonalds Corporation. The highly recognizable executives provided the audience with insights into how they have incorporated diversity into a winning formula for their respective companies.

“HACR brought together the most senior officers of companies that demonstrate the value of including all segments of the marketplace which contribute to their bottom lines,” said Manuel Mirabal, Chairman of the HACR Board of Directors. “These particular CEOs appreciate and respect the importance of the Hispanic Consumer Market and its community leadership to their companies growth.”

Collectively, the three companies generate over $205 billion in revenues and netted close to $16 billion in profits in 2006. They are among Americas most trusted and recognized corporations and all three have Hispanics on their boards and in their executive officer ranks.

“At The Home Depot, we are continually looking for new ways to reach and respond to the rapidly growing Hispanic market. From marketing and merchandising to hiring, training and leadership development, the Hispanic community is reshaping virtually everything we do as a company,” said The Home Depots Frank Blake.

“It makes good sense to diversify our business model so that we are speaking to the many segments of the marketplace in America today,” commented Verizons Seidenberg. “For us that begins with our hiring practices and includes the advertisements and the promotions you see in the media and online.”

“One of my top priorities is talent development, and we believe in developing and maintaining a diverse workforce at McDonalds because it strengthens our system,” said McDonalds Skinner. “We have a long legacy of valuing diversity and were proud of the recognition weve received as leaders in this area.”
