Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Downtown Deputy Chief Bettye Dobkins estimated the crowd at 6,000 at its peak. Other observers put the number at 7,000 to 8,000.
The march in Indianapolis was one of several held in cities across the country Tuesday.”
