The critics have spoken, calling triple Latin Grammy winner Calle 13’s sophomore album Residente o Visitante: “one of the most anticipated Latin music CDs in years,” “weird, seductive, thought-provoking and hilarious all at once,” “bold & controversial as ever,” and “think Eminem at his best”¦ from witty to salacious to outright shocking.” Apparently, Latin music fans are in total agreement, as they have vaulted Calle 13 to a #1 debut on the Latin album chart with Residente o Visitante ending Jennifer Lopez’ reign as the top-selling Spanish language record in the country.
To celebrate the album’s impressive debut, Calle 13 and Sony/BMG are immediately sending the album’s second single “Cumbia De Los Aburridos” (“Cumbia of The Bored”) to radio across the country so fan’s can have more Calle 13 to enjoy on the airwaves. The single follows on the heels of the widely praised “Tango del Pecado” (“Tango of Sin”) which Calle 13 performed on last week’s Billboard Latin Music Awards broadcast in a rendition that was widely hailed as the show-stealing moment of the evening.
