Mis Palabras: The Bush Administration, Politics, The Media & The War in Iraq - What’s up?

You know I rarely talk politics – I just try to bring together the best collection of Hispanic y Latino news possible. Yet today I feel a civil and moral calling to say something. Last night, I stumbled upon Bill Moyer’s show “Buying the War” on PBS and after viewing it I felt I must say something.

Now I am not going to tell you the administration lied or the media was a pushover (we all get to make our own decisions) but it really is starting to look like that. If our invasion of Iraq was based on cooked evidence and marketing political spin deftly engineered by our own country’s administration for whatever reason then something is very wrong at a basic level. How could anyone send our country’s sons and daughters off to war based on anything but the truth? Was going to war for whatever reason worth the lives of the fallen in Iraq when in fact there were no terrorist ties or weapons of mass destruction? Is it patriotic to lie, spend billions of dollars and to send people to die?
