“The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Foundation would like to congratulate USHCC Foundation General Counsel Melinda Guzman for her recent appointment to the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco Board of Directors. The Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco delivers low-cost funding and other services that help member financial institutions make home mortgages available to people of all income levels. In addition, the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco also funds community investment programs that help create affordable housing and promotes community economic development.

Melinda Guzman is a first generation graduate of the University of California at Davis and is a partner of the law firm of Goldsberry Freeman & Guzman, LLP. Her firm is a prominent Sacramento, California based law firm that focuses on tort, labor, insurance and commercial matters. Prior to joining Goldsberry Freeman & Guzman, LLP Melinda was a partner of Diepenbrock, Wulff, Plant & Hannegan, LLP where she was the first Latina to be named partner in a majority owned firm in Sacramento and in most of Northern California.
Ms. Guzman has quite an impressive resume and had been honored as one of “The 100 Influential’s” by “Hispanic Business” magazine. She is a two time winner of the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Business Woman of the Year award and was named by the Sacramento Business Journal in their “Top 40 under 40” dynamic young achievers.
She has served on numerous boards including the Board of Directors of Pac-West Telecomm, Inc., The Make A Wish Foundation, Davis Community Televisions, Comstock’s Club and KVIE Channel 6. She has served in the role of Chair for various organizations including the California Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (CHCC), the Nehemiah Corporation of America and was past president of the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (SHCC).
Currently, Ms. Guzman serves as the General Counsel of the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) Foundation and the USHCC. Ms. Guzman also serves as a member of the California Post Secondary Education commission. Most recently she was appointed by Governor Schwarzenegger to serve as a member of the Board of Trustees for the California State University system.
Ms. Guzman’s appointment to the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco Board of Directors is effective immediately.
