Smithsonian to display work of early San Bernardino artist online – Ramon Contreras
Tagged: San Bernardino, studentPosted on: April 22nd, 2007“Once overlooked, Ramon Contreras is on his way to never being forgotten.
The San Bernardino High School alumnus, a prolific artist who died of cancer in 1940 at age 21, painted a mural at the school while a student there. It went unattributed for years.
Now, one of Contreras’ paintings has been selected for an online collection by the National Museum of American History, one of the Smithsonian Institution museums.”
