“LATINA Style Magazine, the premier magazine addressing the needs of Latina professionals in the U.S., with the participation of the U.S. Small Business Administration, will host for the first time in Seattle the 2007 LATINA Style Business Series on Friday, April 20, 2007 at the Renaissance Seattle Hotel 515 Madison Street. The event is chaired by Dr. Sandra Madrid, Assistant Dean for Students & Community Development, University of Washington School of Law.
The LATINA Style Business Series is the most successful business development conference that seeks to empower Latina professionals and business owners by bringing them together with key corporations and agencies that provide goods, services and essential information most needed by today’s entrepreneur
The Business Series starts at 8:00 am and concludes at 4:00 pm. In the morning the audience will be welcomed by The Honorable Greg Nickels, Mayor of Seattle. Attendees will interact with panelsThe event includes exhibits and expert presenters from sponsors American Airlines, ExxonMobil, IBM Corporation, Office Depot, State Farm Insurance, Sam’s Club, UnitedHealthcare, US Bank, and Wal-Mart. In addition, LATINA Style has partnered with the Washington State Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, City of Seattle, SCORE, US Small Business Administration, Professional Women of Color Network, Association of Latin Professionals in Finance and Accounting, National Society of Hispanic MBAs, Bustos Media, Latino/a Bar Association of Washington, Washington Business Center, Viva Hispanic Foundation NW, State of Washington Commission on Hispanic Affairs, Northwest Minority Business Council, Department of Labor & Industries, and US Mexico Chamber of Commerce. .
The luncheon emcee, Robert Romero of KING 5 will introduce keynote speaker Maria Marin, an international renowned expert in negotiation training, newspaper columnist, radio talk show host, and the author of the audio book, Secretos de La Mujer Segura (“Secrets of a Confident Woman”). Her confidence-building seminars are known for empowering women to find their inner strength and believe in themselves. Marin will address the audience at the Latina Entrepreneur Award Luncheon. Ms. Amelia De Los Santos, President, De Los Santos Construction will receive the “LATINA Style Entrepreneur of the Year” award during the lunch.
