Knowledge is Power!
“Roberto Hernández has been on a crusade since he was outed on the El Show de Raul Brindis y Pepito radio show in 2002 and received a $270,000 settlement in 2005. Since then, he started a nonprofit organization to fight homophobia in the Latin community and launched his own radio program.
Earlier this year, Hernández, 46, hit the airwaves with Roberto Al Medio Dia, a Spanish-language queer Latin radio show for the Latino LGBT community. Every Saturday at noon Hernández takes a seat in front of a microphone on KIQI 1010 AM in San Francisco the show also is broadcast on 990 AM in Sacramento to bring news, entertainment, and thought-provoking discussions about issues in the Latin queer community to nearly 300,000 listeners that span from the outskirts of Ukiah through Californias Central Valley down to just outside of Salinas.”
