“Las night, in the historic celebration of the 50thth Anniversary of Brandy Presidente, Casa Pedro Domecq honored the legacy of another Mexican icon: singer, actress and producer Angélica Marí. It was night full of memories, emotions, special guests and the festive spirit of México.

Guests from around the world walked the Montmartre Lounge’s red carpet to remember five decades of a Brandy strongly associated to the Mexican essence and spirit of celebration, in and outside its frontiers.

After a tasting of Domecq’s best brandies, directed by master blender Juan Pablo NÚñez, special guests including Lupillo Rivera, Guy Ecker, Danna Garcí, Jonathon Scaheach, Oro Norteño, Frankie Needles, Carmen Jara and the most popular soap Hispanic star of the decade, Angélica Vale, went to the reception room where touching images of Mexico 50 years ago, artistically edited with the evolution of Brandy Presidente, moved many to tears. Then, a video featuring five decades of achievements of “La Novia de México”, Angélica Marí, drove the guests to stand compellingly in an ovation that lasted several minutes. Amongst the most emotional guests of honor was Mrs. Maricela Sánchez, mother of young musical icon Adán Chalino Sánchez who died in 2004.

One of the night’s biggest surprise was when Mexican actor Eduardo Verástegui, whose film “Bella” premiers in August 15, took the stage to introduce his friend Angélica Vale, who honored her mother with the award “Icono Mexicano.”

“That was the greatest moment for me: to see my mom’s video, give her the award amongst so many dear friends and see how much everyone loves her. It was so beautiful,” said Angélica Vale. Her mom, Angélica Marí added: “This has been a wonderful, emotional, magical event. I’ve celebrated with friends and marvelous people from the arts, from the press that I hadn’t seen in years, some even decades. I will never forget this night.”

Francois Bouyra Casa Pedro Domecq’s CEO stated, “This celebration marks a special tribute of admiration and respect for Mexico; and for Casa Pedro Domecq to have the pride of celebrating five decades of achievements with a woman like Angélica Marí that means so much to the history of this country and is such an icon, is truly a pleasure, it has been an honor”.
