Knowledge is Power!
“LOS ANGELES, April 16 /PRNewswire/ — LATV, the nation’s first bilingual music/entertainment network distributed via digital multicast, announced today the appointment of Bill Jenkins as vice president of Advertising Sales. In his new position, Mr. Jenkins will roll out the network’s nationwide sales program as well as oversee the local sales at LATV Los Angeles affiliate KJLA.
“Bill’s experience, talent and attitude make him a great choice to lead our sales team,” said Danny Crowe, president, LATV. “Bill has managed major TV and cable network ad sales in the
LA market and internationally. As we continue to expand in the marketplace, Bill’s intimate knowledge of the television industry will be pivotal to our growth.”Prior to joining LATV, Mr. Jenkins was the sales manager for Telefutura in Los Angeles. He previously was the vice president and general manager of Radio Unica, the first national Spanish-language radio network. Formerly, Mr. Jenkins was the senior director of Ad Sales for MTV Networks-Latin America based in Miami Beach. At MTV he created and established the first in-region sales organizations of any international cable channel in Latin America, in Mexico City and in Buenos Aires.
“If advertisers are targeting the young bilingual Hispanic, LATV is where they will want to be,” said Bill Jenkins. “I am very excited about the opportunity to bring A-list advertisers to LATV as the network hits the national airwaves.”
Launching on April 23, LATV recently announced that it was going national via an affiliation agreement with Post-Newsweek Inc. stations KPRC (NBC) Houston; WPLG (ABC) Miami; WKMG (CBS) Orlando; and KSAT (ABC) San Antonio. LATV will be multicast on these stations’ digital spectrum as a standard- definition channel. At launch, LATV will also be carried on basic cable through its affiliates. Last week, the network announced that five more broadcast stations had joined the network’s growing affiliate list. They are: KLAS (CBS) Las Vegas; KSEE (NBC) Fresno Visalia; KWBA (CBS) Tucson; KWES (NBC) Midland Odessa; and KFDA (CBS) Amarillo. In addition, LATV will be carried in Los Angeles on KJLA via cable, broadcast and DBS.”
