“Dozens of Latino leaders and residents gathered in Salinas Wednesday to protest Measure A, the general plan initiative on Monterey Countys June ballot.

At a meeting in the Mountain View Townhomes at Falcon and East Boronda streets, built by Salinas-based affordable housing developer CHISPA, participants chanted “No on Measure A” and “Sí­ se puede” while holding signs declaring the measure “threatens our future.” CHISPA stands for Community Housing Improvement Systems and Planning Association Inc.”
