“The University of Texas at Austin will unveil a statue of civil rights leader Cesar Chavez in October, officials announced Tuesday.

Chavez, who organized farm workers to protest working conditions in Americas fields and agriculture industry, will be the first Hispanic person honored with a statue on the campus. He died in 1993.”
