“The Spanish-speaking congregation at the church has grown by leaps and bounds in the past 10 years, following a similar demographic change in this small city of about 18,000. Businesses catering to Bridgetons Hispanic population can be found in almost all of the citys commercial districts. Hispanics are the largest minority in the citys public schools.
Perhaps nowhere else is this population shift more evident than at Immaculate Conception, whose Hispanic membership has grown drastically with the recent influx of immigrants from Mexico and Central America.”
