Knowledge is Power!

“A recent study bemoaned the fact that the number of African Americans playing Major League Baseball is slipping, having fallen to 8.4 percent of current players in 2006 after being as high as 19 percent in 1995.

But if the point being made is a drop in the games diversity, its a misleading argument; baseball is currently more colorful and diverse than it has ever been.

Thats because Latin American players have taken the game by storm. This years opening rosters included 217 players from Hispanic countries, more than a quarter of those participating. Throw in American-born players of Latin descent such as Alex Rodriguez, and the number is still higher.”
