“The Midlands’ first 24-hour Spanish-language radio station started broadcasting this week with almost exclusively local programming.

Sergio Perez, vice president of Peregon Broadcasting, which operates WIGL 93.9 FM from studios in Irmo, said the new “Radio Ritmo” ”” Spanish for rhythm ”” aims to bring both entertainment and information to the Hispanic community in the Midlands.”
