“Carlos Mencia is an example of a less conventional type of comic in that he doesn’t perform, he speaks. He doesn’t act, read from cue cards or recite bits, or at the very least doesn’t appear to be. He simply steps onstage and is himself. That’s his show. He is what is considered a natural. He can’t fathom doing anything else but making people laugh, and for that we thank him.”
