Founder of Ruiz Foods Inc. dies - Louis Flores Ruiz

“Louis Flores Ruiz, who turned a family business of frozen burritos and enchiladas into the largest Mexican frozen-food manufacturer in the nation, died Sunday at his home in Dinuba.

Mr. Ruiz was 88.

Mr. Ruiz formed Ruiz Foods, Inc. in 1964 with his son, Fred. The family business is one of the largest Hispanic-owned manufacturing firms in California. The company’s signature brand is El Monterey.”
