“A black activist is calling on the Beverly Hills Unified School District to recruit more black and Latino students for its diversity permit program, which — though not by design — predominantly admits Asian students.

The program allows students at 12 middle schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District to apply for permits to attend Beverly Hills High School, which has higher test scores, smaller classes and more Advanced Placement courses than most traditional Los Angeles Unified high schools.”
