“Colorados new immigration laws are driving workers away from Aspen, according to Marie Munday, Latino-Anglo liaison with the Pitkin County Sheriffs Office.

“The whole climate has changed on the political level — federal and state — and in the valley, too,” said Munday on Friday. “A lot of people have left that have been here for years. Salvadorans, Peruvians, Mexicans. People are returning to their countries of origin.”
