The ASPIRA Association works with over 50,000 youth and their families each year to provide support and resources for Latino youth to remain in school and become future leaders in their communities.

To this end, the ASPIRA organization will host a conference for Latino youth at DeVry University’s Miramar campus on Thursday, April 5, 2007 from 8:30 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.

The keynote speaker will be Latino journalist/TV anchor Guillermo Descalzi, from Spanish Channel 41, America TeeVee.

According to Julio Torres, President of DeVry University’s Miramar campus, DeVry is proud to welcome the ASPIRA conference to its southern Florida campus. “Because we are located among such a large Latino community, we are extremely supportive of ASPIRA’s efforts to encourage and support Latino youth through education, mentoring and community outreach,” said Torres.

During the conference, participating students from Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties, will attend discussion groups and leadership development sessions in education, careers and health”
