Set sights high, Latinas tell others at Norte Vista High – California
Tagged: California, latinaPosted on: March 28th, 2007“A group of Latinas at Norte Vista High School wants their peers to look beyond community college and envision themselves at a four-year college or university, but they found that many girls had not taken a college-entrance exam by their senior year.
Kimberly Ganuza, Virginia Morales, Maria Riestra and Danita Mendoza are part of a high school program organized by HOPE, a statewide Latina advocacy group. The Youth Leadership through Literacy Program involves Latinas throughout the state in leadership workshops and teaches them about topics ranging from financial planning to Latino history.”
