The Marians service organization brought her on behalf of Womens History Month.
Monique Gonzalez, a sophomore psychology major and co-coordinator of Womans History Month for the Marians, said “For Womens History Month, the Marians wanted to bring someone to campus who would share the mission statement, because our mission statement is justice. Huerta closely ties in with our mission statement and our [upcoming] holiday, Cesar Chavez Day.” She added, “[Huerta] also promotes justice for women and children, the focus of the Marians.” “
