“Patients at the center have grown from 50 when the clinic opened in 1999 to almost 700 now. Many come from as far as Pecos and Hudspeth County for medical checks and medicine.

On Wednesday, Centro de Salud Familiar La Fe will dedicate a $1 million expansion of the center, funded in part by a community block grant from the city. Before the expansion, there were only two exam rooms and a waiting area for 10 people. Now the centers waiting room can seat more than 40 patients. There are six exam rooms and an expert AIDS physician on staff full time, Dr. Ann Khalsa.”
