Latino film short basks in star power at the San Diego Latino Film Festival

When “Ugly Betty” star America Ferrera made a brief personal appearance at the 14th annual San Diego Latino Film Festival over the weekend, her spotlight kept glowing, even after she slipped quietly out of the theater.
Ferrera was at the UltraStar Cinemas in Mission Valley on Saturday to help promote “Muertas,” a 9-minute film by writer-director Ryan Piers Williams in which she has a fleeting cameo. Ferrera – whose credits include roles in “Real Women Have Curves” and “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” – was also one of the films two executive producers.”
