“I am excited about our partnership with Mariano Rivera,” expressed Rev. Emilio A. Reyes, vice president, Hispanic/Latino Ministries of American Bible Society. “I know this partnership will have a great impact in reaching New York’s Latino community, many of whom have not yet experienced the life-changing message of the Bible.”
“I believe that the Bible teaches us, that the Bible guides us, it’s the life-giving Word of God,” said Rivera. “We need this guide on a daily basis in order to move forward and that is why I support this campaign.”
“La Biblia Es Mi Guí” is a national Bible advocacy campaign focused on reaching Latinos in strategic cities (New York, Miami, and Los Angeles) by partnering with prominent Latino figures to disseminate the Bible language. Award winning Christian/Latino rock band Salvador has been promoting La Biblia Es Mi Guí for the past six months during their nationwide tour.
The campaign promotes additional outreach through popular internet sites like MySpace.com and through the Bless a Bodega campaign which will distribute free bible reading materials to neighborhood businesses in each key city. “
