Research offers insight about Hispanic students

Tagged: ,

Linda “Hagedorn, professor and chairwoman of the educational administration at UF, had a research study published in the February issue of the Research in Higher Education journal that claims Hispanic students do better when grouped with other Hispanics.

“If colleges are really serious about reaching out to minority groups, they need to think in terms of clusters, not individuals,” Hagedorn said in the article. “If youre the only Latino or African-American on your college campus, you can certainly succeed academically – but if youre surrounded by people who share your cultural background, your chances of success improve.”"
