It wasn’t on a whim: Acevedo was well aware of the villages the growing number of Latinos.
Advertisement“I did a study of the Spanish-speaking population and identified Rantoul as an ideal location for our radio station,” said Acevedo, who also changed the call letters from WJCI to WKJR. “We have been getting a good response from Spanish-speaking people in Rantoul and the surrounding area.”"
