“They couldnt hide the tears in their eyes when they spoke of leaving their families behind, but the three 2004 Olympic boxing gold medalists who defected from Cuba said Monday they are ready to begin training for the sports top title.

“We have a commitment with the people of Miami and the people of Cuba, its true - to become world champions,” Flyweight Yan Barthelemy told reporters in Spanish during the groups first official press conference since arriving in the U.S. on Friday.”
